We met Alistair and Yeon when they had a bay window that needed to be re-trimmed due to leaking over time. After replacing the trim on both the outside and inside, we discussed updating their kitchen at some point in the future. Fast forward a few years, and the conversation began again.
Their existing kitchen featured a peninsula with a raised bar—a design that was popular in the 1990s. To reflect changing design trends and their desire for a more open space, the peninsula is now all one height. We also added a set of cabinets on the backside for additional storage.
From polished Bluzonite granite to their undermount single-bowl sink and blue cabinets, their kitchen feels bright and airy. The luxury vinyl plank flooring and tile backsplash complement the overall look and feel.
Since the refrigerator is a large appliance in any kitchen, we moved it to the corner so it would not take up as much spatial room. The coffee bar and upper cabinets were reduced by 25% in depth, providing ample space for coffee making while allowing more room for the breakfast area.
The blue pendant lights over the peninsula add a finishing touch to their kitchen.
